Hello!
My name is Katie. I was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota but currently reside in Las Vegas. I joined the Glamour Boutique 2 family in 2007! Although I have loved the art of makeup and being able to help everyone feel a beautiful as they can feel as long as I can remember.
My love and passion for makeup as a little girl growing up has gotten me to this point at my life. It all started when I was young, taking my mom’s mascara and trying to put in on… well, finally after a couple of pokes in the eye, I grasped the concept. From then on I would literally spend hours at night (when everyone was sleeping) working on my technique and trying new looks. Before I new it I had friends lining up and asking me to do their makeup for them. I absolutely loved it; I got to practice on new faces.
I made a bold move to Las Vegas to get my independence and to try something different. I wanted to try and pursue my dreams. One day just randomly looking for a job on craigslist, I ran into the Glamour Boutique ad and saw the word makeup (which sparked my interest immediately). I than called and spoke with Amy who told me to come on down and fill out an application. Well, an hour later and like 5 calls for directions I finally made it. Then and there I had my first little interview where I was learned about Glamour Boutique (job, clientele, what is expected of employees, etc.). I was than asked to fill out the application and write a brief paragraph on why I would be a great employee for GB2; Amy ended up getting a novel to read! I than got asked to do a second interview putting makeup on a client. I remember that day as if it were yesterday; I was so nervous! But I got through it and got a great score from the client. I then was asked to do a third interview which was another makeover. That day I was so proud of myself because that was the day I was hired. Since then, Amy has showed me some of her makeup tricks that made me more confident and versatile in my makeup skills. Also, the good feedback from clients has made me more inspired to want to learn more and more everyday. I fully intend to go back to school to learn more and to educate myself in the art of manicuring, so I can help create a place that everyone will want to come for a full day of pampering and relaxation.
